What is Ipamorelin?

Ipamorelin is a synthetic peptide from the GHRP (growth hormone releasing peptides) group that stimulates the natural release of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. It acts by activating the ghrelin receptors (GHS-R), which are involved in regulating growth hormone secretion.

Ipamorelin was developed in the 1990s as a more selective alternative to earlier peptides from the same group such as GHRP-2 and GHRP-6. The main goal of its development was to create a molecule that stimulates growth hormone release without causing significant increases in other hormones like cortisol, prolactin or adrenocorticotropic hormone.
